In March of 2020, as the world entered lockdown, the I Need Space festival was born to fill in the huge gap that musical community faced as a result of the pandemic. We aimed specifically to promote and strengthen queer voices and queer music for all to hear and be lifted. Our Team produced ten monthly live stream music festivals throughout 2020, a beacon of hope during what felt like a hopeless year of isolation. What a joyful relief that things have changed just enough so that we can come together and be in the same space to for music again! We initially made I Need Space to support, broaden, and strengthen queer musical community by bringing kick-ass music to the world when we all needed it most; we’re grateful to continue the tradition in ever-evolving ways
